Monaco Opens Entries for the 7th Superyacht Chef Competition
The Yacht Club de Monaco has opened applications for the 7th Superyacht Chef Competition, taking place on 2 April 2026 in partnership with Bluewater. The event, run by La Belle Classe Academy, celebrates the chefs who elevate the onboard experience on luxury yachts, where fine dining is a defining part of life at sea.
Next year’s competition will be chaired by acclaimed French chef Philippe Etchebest, holder of two Michelin stars and the title Meilleur Ouvrier de France. He will lead a jury that includes fellow MOF chef Philippe Joannès, YCM’s culinary consultant, alongside the club’s events team and Monaco Goût et Saveurs representatives.
The challenge aims to show the pace and creativity required in a yacht galley. Chefs must work from a mystery basket revealed moments before the start, design a dish in just five minutes, use every ingredient to avoid waste and respond to a surprise element introduced by the audience. A dedicated award also recognises the best presentation.
With nearly 11,000 yachts over 24 metres in operation and thousands of chefs working at sea - many trained in haute cuisine - the competition reflects the growing professionalism within yacht hospitality.
Chefs interested in competing in 2026 can now submit their applications.
If you are not a chef please have a look at the crewed charter yachts with a chef.
