MIRAGE IV – Princess 40M Yacht Tour

MIRAGE IV is a 40-metre Princess yacht with a large sundeck complete with a jacuzzi, six spacious cabins and a long list of water toys. The interior, however, is a matter of taste.

The British shipyard Princess Yachts built the MIRAGE IV in 2017 as the Princess 40M; she was refitted in 2024. She is 40.16 metres long and 8 metres wide, and accommodates up to twelve guests in six cabins. She is looked after by a crew of eight led by Captain Darko Škaro.

Two MTU engines, with a combined output of around 3,500 PS, give her a cruising speed of 18 knots and a top speed of 23 knots. For a yacht of this size, that’s quite nippy, meaning longer journeys between the islands can be covered quickly. Zero-speed stabilisers ensure that she remains steady even whilst at anchor.

The sundeck with a jacuzzi

The most impressive area on board is right at the top. The sundeck features a large jacuzzi, flanked by a lounge with wraparound sofas, which is shaded by the hardtop. There is also a bar and a few pieces of fitness equipment up here.

With twelve guests, the sundeck is where the group gathers. Whilst some sit in the jacuzzi, others spread out on the sofas or at the bar, and in the evening the lounge becomes the place to meet for an aperitif.

Salon and Skylounge

The main saloon on the Main Deck is very spacious and classically furnished: red velvet armchairs, beige sofas, dark wood and a long dining table. Balconies can be folded out on both sides, opening up the saloon towards the water.

Opinions may differ on the art on board. The large painting of the bulldogs in the saloon is rather crude, and we were only moderately impressed by the rest of the art too. The rooms themselves have potential, but the décor certainly won’t be to everyone’s taste.

One level higher is the Skylounge, featuring a sofa area, a dining table and a large television. It is furnished in a more modern and lighter style and offers a second retreat alongside the main saloon in bad weather or in the evenings.

Master Suite and Cabins

The Master Suite spans the full width of the Main Deck and is very spacious. In addition to the large bed, there is a seating area and a private office, as well as a bathroom with a whirlpool bath and a walk-in shower.

The Lower Deck houses the remaining five cabins: VIP and double cabins, as well as two twin cabins that can be converted into double beds. All have en-suite bathrooms. Despite accommodating twelve guests, none of the cabins feels cramped – which is to be expected given the yacht’s 40-metre length. This makes the MIRAGE IV well-suited to larger families or several couples travelling together.

Beach Club and water sports

At the stern is a beach club with a swimming platform. A pool with jellyfish protection can be set up there, so you can swim safely even when there are jellyfish in the water. The range of water toys is extensive: a water slide, a climbing wall, two Seabobs, a jet ski, an e-board, SUPs, water skis, a wakeboard and snorkelling equipment. A Williams tender is available for trips ashore.

MIRAGE IV’s home port is Split. From there, she mainly cruises in Central Dalmatia and further south as far as Dubrovnik, and can also visit other Mediterranean destinations on request.

The charter rate via BlueSun Luxury Yachts is 175,000 euros per week in the low season and 195,000 euros in the high season, plus ancillary costs in each case.
