Chef Aaron Thomas Wins Superyacht Chef Competition in Monaco
British chef Aaron Thomas, currently working aboard M/Y Canvas (33m), has won the seventh edition of the Superyacht Chef Competition, held at Yacht Club de Monaco on 2 April.
A former UK MasterChef contestant, Thomas secured the top prize against eight competitors with a two-part lobster dish featuring asparagus, morel fricassee and a bisque. He highlighted the intense pace and the challenge of working with mystery ingredients under time pressure as the most demanding aspects.
Organised by the Yacht Club de Monaco’s La Belle Classe Academy in partnership with Bluewater, the competition is designed to mirror real-life conditions onboard, requiring chefs to create dishes within strict time limits and no-waste rules.
The jury was chaired by renowned two-Michelin-star chef Philippe Etchebest, alongside a panel of internationally recognised culinary figures.
