British Superyacht Chef Drowns in French Harbour After Night of Drinking
A 22-year-old British head chef, Flinn Sessions, drowned after falling into a harbour late at night while intoxicated, an inquest heard.
Flinn Sessions, 22, head chef of the superyacht Atlantico, tragically drowned after falling into a harbour in La Ciotat, France, following a night of heavy drinking with the crew, an inquest heard.
CCTV footage showed Flinn struggling in the water for over 20 minutes, desperately trying to find a rope or ladder to climb back aboard the £12 million yacht. His cries for help went unheard, as the vessel was deserted late at night.
The alarm was raised the next morning by the yacht’s captain, who realised Flinn had not returned on board. He was found in the water at around 6:30am.
Sessions had joined the Atlantico in April 2023 in Turkey, working on the Mediterranean.
We are deeply sorry to hear of the loss of such talented individuals in the superyacht community.
