The Black Pearl Spotted in Mallorca

Watch this, one of the largest and most ecological sailing yachts in the world, captured from a helicopter, as the camera hangs out over the sea to film the Black Pearl in all her glory.

The Black Pearl - one of the largest and most ecological sailing yachts in the world - has been seen once again off Puerto Portals, drawing attention from locals and visitors alike.

The 106.7-metre yacht, originally owned by the late Russian billionaire and engineer Oleg Burlakov, is believed to remain in his family’s ownership.

Launched in 2016 and delivered in 2018 by Dutch shipyard Oceanco, Black Pearl is a landmark of green engineering. Thanks to her advanced DynaRig system and an innovative propulsion setup that harvests kinetic energy under sail, she can cross the Atlantic without burning even a litre of fossil fuel. Nearly 3,000 m² of sails, solar-integrated panels, and lightweight carbon-fibre masts all contribute to performance that remains unmatched in her size class.
