Azimut Grande 26M ‘Getaway’ – Yacht Tour

The Azimut Grande 26M “Getaway” is a yacht entering the charter market that is already generating considerable interest even before its first full season. Only due to be handed over to its French owner at the end of 2025, it combines modern Italian yacht design with a bespoke interior brimming with French elegance. During our viewing in Cannes, it quickly became clear that this yacht does not seek to impress with technical records, but rather with its atmosphere, comfort and exceptional attention to detail.

A bespoke interior with a French flair

The moment you step aboard, it is clear that the ‘Getaway’ deliberately sets itself apart from many classic charter yachts. The French owner has had the entire interior custom-designed, opting for a modern, homely style featuring high-quality materials and strikingly soft shapes. Instead of angular furniture, the interior is dominated by curved lines, round mirrors and harmoniously integrated design elements, which lend the interior spaces a particularly tranquil atmosphere.

Large windows flood the saloon with natural light and create a pleasantly open feeling of space, even whilst in harbour. At anchor, this effect is likely to be even more impressive, when the view stretches unobstructed across the sea. A particularly practical feature is that the television elegantly retracts into the furniture when not in use, thus providing an unobstructed view of the outside.

Everywhere you look, you’ll find high-quality details from renowned French brands. Hermès cushions, blankets, rugs and exclusive toiletries in the bathrooms, as well as fine bed linen, lend the yacht a distinctive character that goes far beyond the usual standard fittings. During our tour, it was particularly striking how consistently this concept had been implemented without ever seeming intrusive.

Five cabins over 26 metres – an astonishing amount of space

One of the ‘Getaway’s’ most distinctive features can be found below deck. Whilst many yachts of this size offer just three or four guest cabins, the Azimut Grande 26M boasts a total of five cabins for up to ten guests.

The spacious master cabin is located on the main deck and offers not only plenty of space but also direct access to the outdoor area. It is complemented by three comfortable VIP cabins and a twin cabin, one of which is additionally fitted with a Pullman berth. This makes the yacht ideal for families or mixed groups of travellers.

Each cabin has its own en-suite bathroom and has been individually designed. The continuous carpeted flooring creates a pleasant living atmosphere, whilst integrated technology – such as televisions built into the mirrors or the control of lighting and air conditioning via iPad – rounds off the modern overall impression.

We were particularly impressed by how efficiently every available square metre has been utilised. Despite its length of 26 metres, the yacht feels considerably larger than its technical specifications would suggest.

Plenty of open-air space

The outdoor areas are at least as impressive. The spacious aft deck features a large dining table that can easily seat ten people.

One clever feature is the hydraulically operated stern garage. When opened, it noticeably expands the outdoor area, creating additional space for relaxing or for social evenings right by the water. Such well-thought-out solutions play a major part in making the yacht feel particularly spacious during everyday charter use.

The flybridge is undoubtedly one of the highlights of the ‘Getaway’. It is divided into several areas and features a large lounge, a bar and a further dining area. Thanks to the clever layout, there are sheltered retreats that are ideal for both relaxed afternoons and long summer evenings.

The foredeck has also been designed as a comfortable living area. The large lounge is perfect for sunbathing and, by sunset at the latest, becomes one of the most beautiful spots on board. Sun awnings provide pleasant shade when needed.

Well-thought-out layouts for a relaxed charter experience

An often-overlooked aspect of comfort is evident in the yacht’s layout. The guest and crew areas are consistently kept separate.

The crew can access the galley, bridge, engine rooms and crew quarters via separate routes, without having to constantly walk through the guest areas. For charter guests, this means significantly more privacy and, at the same time, particularly discreet service. Meals, drinks and preparations take place almost unnoticed in the background.

This intelligent layout has a particularly positive impact on daily life on board, especially on longer charter trips.

More than just water sports

When it comes to leisure activities, the “Getaway” offers everything you’d expect from a modern luxury yacht. The equipment includes two Seabobs, stand-up paddleboards, a wakeboard and snorkelling gear. Those wishing to explore the underwater world in greater depth will benefit from the captain, who is himself a passionate diver and is happy to accompany guests to particularly beautiful snorkelling and diving spots.

The charter also includes an Axopar 29 Chase boat, which offers additional flexibility for excursions along the coast. Whilst jet skis are not permanently on board, they can be easily arranged through local partners if required.

A lovely bonus is the crew’s dedication. The deckhand is also a photographer and takes professional photos during the charter, as well as a short video teaser as a memento of the holiday. The stewardess offers morning yoga and stretching sessions on request – a pleasant start to the day, especially in quiet anchorages.

At home on the Côte d’Azur

The “Getaway” is based in Cannes and mainly sails along the French Riviera and the Italian coast. For longer charter trips, voyages to the Balearic Islands are also planned for the future, as soon as the necessary permits have been fully granted.

Shortly after she entered the charter market, the sought-after summer weeks were almost fully booked – a clear sign of just how well this yacht’s concept has been received.

The Azimut Grande 26M “Getaway” impresses not so much with spectacular individual features as with its harmonious overall design. The bespoke interior, the exceptionally spacious layout with five guest cabins, the harmonious outdoor areas and the well-thought-out separation of the crew and guest decks create a charter experience that feels pleasantly private yet extremely comfortable.

Anyone looking for a modern yacht with an exceptional sense of space, stylish French design and a dedicated crew will find the Azimut Grande 26M “Getaway” to be one of the most interesting charter options in its class.
