GIORGIO – MCY 86 Yacht Tour
Measuring 26.2 metres in length, with four cabins and an exceptionally spacious flybridge, the GIORGIO brings many of the qualities of significantly larger motor yachts to a comparatively compact design. Her two fold-out side balconies and her warm, cosy interior are particularly memorable.

Monte Carlo Yachts has developed the MCY 86 in collaboration with the Italian design studio Nuvolari Lenard. GIORGIO was built in 2018 and, upon viewing, quickly reveals what this concept is all about: plenty of usable space, clearly separated areas for guests and crew, and several spaces on board, each with its own character.
Up to eight guests can travel in four cabins, looked after by a crew of four. At 26.2 metres, GIORGIO feels surprisingly substantial. Many details familiar from larger superyachts are found here in a size that is very appealing for a private charter with family or friends.
A warm interior and plenty of space
Upon entering the saloon, the choice of materials immediately catches the eye. Rather than a very light, almost minimalist interior, GIORGIO features plenty of wood. This creates a warm, homely atmosphere and complements the generous windows well.
The saloon combines a classic lounge with a separate dining area. It is here, in particular, that one of the most interesting features of the entire yacht can be found: balconies can be folded out on both sides.

When at anchor, this significantly changes the character of the space. The dining area opens out to the water at the sides, fresh air flows directly into the saloon and the distance to the sea shrinks to just a few steps. Sitting on one of these balconies in the morning with a coffee, or looking out directly onto the water from there, is a small detail with a surprisingly big impact.
Four cabins for eight guests
Below deck, the feeling of spaciousness continues. GIORGIO offers four guest cabins with en-suite bathrooms and accommodation for up to eight people.
The centrepiece is the large master cabin, which takes up a significant portion of the yacht’s width. There is also a further double cabin, a twin cabin with an additional Pullman berth, and a convertible cabin.

For day-to-day charter life, the separation between guest and crew areas is also a notable feature. The galley and crew passageways are situated towards the bow and are largely kept separate from the guest areas. During our tour, we also noticed the separate access points to the wheelhouse and crew area. This allows the crew to move about and work on board without constantly having to pass through the guests’ living areas.

The flybridge becomes a second living room
One of GIORGIO’s strongest features is situated one deck higher. The flybridge, which is around twelve metres long, offers several seating and lounge areas, a bar and a permanently installed gas barbecue.

This means a large part of the day can be spent up there. Thanks to the various seating areas, the eight guests can spread out without the flybridge losing its convivial atmosphere.
In good weather, GIORGIO is steered from the open helm on the flybridge. There is also a sheltered indoor helm for the captain.
Particularly during longer voyages, guests may find it appealing to experience the journey first-hand from above whilst still having a fully equipped lounge area around them.
A private retreat at the bow
The foredeck of the MCY 86 has also been utilised as a dedicated guest area. Here, there is a separate lounge and sunbathing area with shade options.
At the stern, a large hydraulic bathing platform completes the design. It provides convenient access to the water and is quickly put to use for swimming and water sports in the bay.
Straight from the saloon onto the water
We were particularly impressed by the balconies during our viewing. Details like these change the way a yacht is used far more than technical specifications can convey. When at anchor, the saloon feels less enclosed and almost takes on the character of a terrace overlooking the sea.
Added to this are stabilisers that can also operate whilst at anchor. They reduce rolling motion in the bay, thereby enhancing comfort precisely in those situations where guests make the most of the outdoor areas, balconies and swimming platform.
Air conditioning and Wi-Fi are also included as standard.

Water sports straight from the swim platform
For active days, GIORGIO comes equipped with an extensive range of water sports equipment. The confirmed core equipment includes a Williams 395 jet tender, two SeaBobs, two underwater scooters, two SUPs, water skis, an inflatable tube and snorkelling equipment.
A well-coordinated crew of four
A good charter experience depends to a large extent on the crew. On GIORGIO, four crew members look after a maximum of eight guests.
The captain brings experience from both private and commercially operated motor yachts. The chef is responsible for the galley. He has over 15 years’ culinary experience, including eight years on luxury yachts, and specialises in, amongst other things, Mediterranean cuisine, fresh local ingredients, grilled dishes, and home-baked bread and pastries.
A particular highlight of our visit was the personal conversation we had about his cooking. Such encounters really bring home just how important food can be during a charter week.
GIORGIO as a charter yacht
GIORGIO strikes an interesting balance between a classic motor yacht and the superyacht experience. Four en-suite cabins, a professional crew, separate crew quarters, a large flybridge, several distinct outdoor areas and stabilisers whilst at anchor combine to create a package that feels very comprehensive for everyday charter life.
However, current offers vary significantly in terms of charter destination and price. Depending on the season and the operator, GIORGIO is available for charter in various parts of the Mediterranean. Accordingly, the current offer for the specific season should be taken as a basis. Through BlueSun Luxury Yachts, you can check the terms and conditions applicable to your desired charter period and the current cruising area.
GIORGIO impresses less through any single spectacular feature than through the way her various areas complement one another. In particular, the large flybridge, the cosy interior, the clear separation between guests and crew, and the two side balconies give her a character all of her own.
