Where is the Baltic Sea?
The Baltic Sea is a sea in northern Europe and is part of the Atlantic Ocean, but is an inland sea - largely surrounded by land. The following countries border the Baltic Sea: Germany, Poland, Lithuania, Latvia, Estonia, Russia, Finland, Sweden and Denmark.
The western part of the Baltic Sea is connected to the Atlantic Ocean by the Skagerrak and Kattegat. The Kattegat is still counted as part of the Baltic Sea in some sources, while other sources count it among the marginal seas of the North Sea.
How much does a yacht charter in the Baltic Sea cost?
The prices for a week's yacht charter depend on the season in which your charter cruise takes place and whether you hire a motorboat or a sailboat. Prices for 10 - 15 metre sailboats currently range between € 990 and € 9,200 per week, while 10 - 15 metre motorboats cost from € 1,215 to € 7,600 per week on our portal.
The most beautiful areas of the Baltic Sea
From the rugged coasts of Sweden to the idyllic islands off the German coast, the Baltic Sea offers a multitude of opportunities for yacht charters.
Enjoy relaxing moments on the water - from the Flensburg Firth in the west to the island of Rügen and Usedom in the German east to the Gulf of Finland in the north-east, from the Danish South Sea in the south to the Stockholm archipelago and the Gulf of Bothnia in the far north.
While motorboaters will tend to favour the warmer southern waters, sailors will also find their fun in the far north.
Favourite starting ports for boat trips
- Flensburg: Flensburg is an ideal starting point for cruises to Denmark or along the German coast. In Flensburg itself, you can visit the historic harbour or the Maritime Museum, for example.
- Heiligenhafen: Here you can also see the Baltic Sea from a different perspective - from the 400 metre long Adventure pier (Erlebnis-Seebrücke).
- Rostock: Enjoy the breathtaking panoramic view of the Baltic Sea from the lighthouse in the Warnemünde district of Rostock.
- Fehmarn: The island is a very good starting point for boat trips in all directions and is perfectly located in the middle of the Baltic Sea. If you don't want to spend a day on the water, you can visit some of the lighthouses, play golf or visit the Maritime Rescue Museum.
Yacht charter on the Baltic Sea and skipper price
Thanks to its often strong winds, the Baltic Sea is a paradise for sailors, so you will find many more sailing boats for hire than motorboats. However, well-equipped motor yachts are also available for charter.
ou can hire the boat as a bareboat, i.e. without a skipper, you have to take the helm yourself. Or you can book a skipper who will take the work and responsibility of driving the boat off your hands.
A skipper on the Baltic Sea costs between 100 and 250 euros/day.
