With the Polder Museum, which brings you closer to the land reclamation that took place here, there is also the "Bataviawerf" in which historic ships are built and restored using historical means, and the "Aviodrome" aviation museum.

In the Markermeer, you can experience the islands of the Marker Wadden. Marker Wadden is a large project that ensures the restoration of the nature of the Markermeer. A new nature was created by building natural islands with sand, clay and silt from the Markermeer. Both under and above water. A natural paradise for fish and birds and a wonderful island for relaxation. With the construction of Marker Wadden, a robust nature reserve was created in the heart of the Netherlands. Lelystad, the capital of the Dutch province of Flevoland, lies between the Markermeer, Gooimeer and Veluwemeer. The city of Enkhuizen awaits you not far from the Dutch capital Amsterdam (reachable in 30 - 40 minutes) with all its attractions. The medieval Hanseatic city of Harderwijk is about a 25-minute drive away. Here you will find numerous historical buildings, many monuments and also a whole range of impressive star restaurants.
